Early Childhood Education

Early childhood education generally refers to the years leading up to and including day care and preschool. Researchers have proven that the largest amount of physical and mental development for humans is from birth to the age of five. With that being said, this is the perfect time for the child to get a concrete base for the rest of his or her life. Young children are considered to be human sponges. They are able to take in, absorb, and retain enormous amounts of sensory information. Cognitive development- how they begin to recognize themselves in relation to others, how they believe they should behave and react, and how they anticipate others to act in response and react to them and their responses is a significant process for the child. In a number of states, educators are required to have an explicit teaching certification to teach young children during these fundamental years. Teaching early education can be extremely challenging, but it can also be unbelievably gratifying knowing that you can give the children the introductory tools to succeed in life.
